Pumice Stone: How to Use It, Tools and Techniques

Pumice in it’s powdered or dust form is also known as pumicite. It is a volcanic rock and has a vesicular rough texture. It is generally light in colour.

The pumice is formed when lava and water are mixed together. It is lightweight and has an abrasive texture.

It has been used in the beauty industry for ages now. It is used to remove dry or dead cells from the body.

This stone can be used on a daily basis but it is important to use it properly. The pumice Stone can soften your corns or calluses to reduce the pain from friction.

This stone is also powdered and made in a form of toothpaste. If this stone is not used properly it can cause bleeding or infection on the area where it is harshly used.

Pumice Stone can be easily purchased online or you can easily find it in any local beauty supply store. This works best for exfoliating the skin.

It can be especially used in the part of the body where it is a bit rougher than the normal skin like the knees, elbows, feet, and all the areas which are thickened.

These pumice stones are also available in double side features. This stone has an abrasive side for rougher skin and a softer side for sensitive skin.

For exfoliating with the pumice Stone you need a large bowl of warm and soapy water. Then gently rub the pumice stone against your body part.

This step by step instructions will help you to get rid of all the rough skin in your body properly. It will exfoliate the skin for you and do the job for you.

Preparation

You for sure need the pumice Stone, soap as per your choice and water. Make sure your stone is clean from any harmful particles.

Take a container or a big bowl and add some water to it.Now to make the water softer and moisturized add soap or oil to it.

soak the rough or callused skin on that water for About 10-15 mins. This will soften the rough skin and will be easy for you to clean.

Tips For Using Pumice Stone

For your face and neck:

Your face and neck is way more sensitive than any other body parts. Rubbing strongly with Pumice Stone will lead to sensitive skin and irritation on the skin.

Rub the stone in a circular motion for 15 minutes. If you feel any pain do not further continue it. After scrubbing, rinse your face properly and moisturize.

For hair removal:

Along with removing dead cells pumice Stone also helps in removing unwanted hair. Below mentioned are the steps you can follow:

  • Soften your skin by soaking it in warm water for up to 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Now soak your pumice stone too.
  • cover the stone with soap.
  • Now, use the Pumice Stone on your skin, rub it in a circular motion with a light pressure to remove hairs.
  • Rinse the area and repeat the same process until all your hair has been removed. If you experience any irritation or mild pain then stop using the pumice stone immediately.
