FDA shortens Moderna booster waiting period to 5 months for adults

Moderna had been leading one of the companies providing booster shots to the people. The food and drug administration, also known as the FDA, have stated that people who are over the age of 18 can get booster shots in the United States. But the time period had been changed a bit with the reduction of one month. The Moderna vaccine had to be taken as a booster shot within 5 months of the primary vaccine.

The fact is that you are not sufficiently protected against the omicron variant of the coronavirus. You have to take the booster shot. The first shots are effective, but they are just 75% effective against the virus. This is not just a random number.

FDA has researched this, and then they have taken a calculated decision. The booster shots time period had been reduced by one month for the sake of the people. The vaccines are indeed a blessing because, without them, many people will be dying because of the omicron variant of the coronavirus.

If you are thinking that it’s no use taking the booster shots, then you are wrong. You need to take the booster shot. “Vaccination is our best defense against Covid-19, including the circulating variants, and shortening the length of time between completion of a primary series and a booster dose may help reduce waning immunity,” said Dr. Peter Marks. If you don’t know who he is, he is the head of the FDA group responsible for vaccine safety.

We are hoping that you take the shot on time and be safe with your near and dear ones. Take care of yourself.
