FDA Panel Recommends Pfizer’s Low-Dose Covid Vaccine For Kids Ages 5 to 11

On Tuesday, a highly proficient advisory panel of the FDA had given a recommendation to the people about the vaccine for kids between the ages of 5 and 11. It is indeed a good move that had been made by them. They recommended a small dosage of the Pfizer vaccine to the kids. It might seem to be one of the best pieces of news that you can hear if you are a parent because this will give your child the protection they needed against the coronavirus.

Now since the delta variant is on a surge, this was required more than ever. Just vaccinating the adults and not giving any vaccine to the kids was indeed something that was bothering a lot of people. It felt that we were leaving the kids unprotected.

The endorsement of the vaccine by the agency’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee will now be taken under and then they will be considered by the FDA. They can be going to take some time and talk about it and then they could go ahead and issue a final decision within days.

This really seems to be the standard way of doing things. The vote that had been held on this matter was nearly unanimous, there were 17 members who were backing it and one abstention.

The Biden administration had said that they are going to make the doses available and they are going to distribute them to the people as soon as possible whenever they get the approval from the CDC and the FDA. That seems to be a reasonable thing to do.

Some people are anxious about when that is happening but we are sure that it might be some time at the beginning of the next month. We have waited this long, surely we could wait for some other few weeks too.

Many people are really anxious about the vaccine as they had been waiting for it for a long time. They are hoping that they can get their children vaccinated as soon as they can now that schools are open in the USA.
